About Whitefish Mountain Resort

Whitefish Mountain Resort offers summer activities as well as skiing and riding during the winter months. Enjoy some of the 20+ miles of lift-accessed and cross country mountain bike trails at Whitefish Mountain Resort. Don't miss the Summit Trail - the most scenic trail in Montana; or Runaway Train - the most exciting freeride trail in Montana. We have some of the best and most plentiful trails in the state, offering something for everyone. Mountain Bike rentals are available at Snow Ghost Outfitters, located in the Morning Eagle building on the Village boardwalk. Snow Ghost is open daily from 9:30 am to 6 pm during the Summer Season. Pick up a trail map at Snow Ghost, the Chair Plaza or Info Center. On the summit of Big Mountain at Whitefish Mountain Resort the majestic peaks of Glacier National Park and Canadian Rockies create an awe-inspiring backdrop for skiers. This spectacular view is complimented by that of the Flathead Valley stretched out below from the town of Whitefish to the head of Flathead Lake; the largest natural lake in the western United States. Skiers will find every type of terrain to whet their carving appetite from bowls to glades, long cruisers to steep chutes and slopes facing every direction.

What's New This Season at Whitefish Mountain Resort

Phase one of a two phase project will be completed in time for the 2013/2014 Winter Season. This fall the resort cut four new groomable intermediate runs and two connector runs for a total of approximately 32 acres. Guests will be able to access three of the four main runs and one connector run via the existing Big Foot T-Bar. A new lift will be added during the summer of 2014 to enable access to the entire area which is approximately 200 acres. The project is expected to be complete in time for the 2014/2015 Winter Season. Also new: Snowboarding lessons for 3-6 year olds and expansion of the Base Lodge.
