Angel Fire can claim the title of "most-improved New Mexico resort." In recent years, the area installed New Mexico's only two high-speed quad chairlifts (the Southwest Flyer and the Chile Express), completed four terrain parks, greatly expanded snowmaking and staged new special events, assumming the role of the state's snowboarding capital. Last spring it hosted the USASA National Championships. It is largely a family and beginner/intermediate resort, with great cruising terrain.
