This coveted mountain is nestled at the crest of the Bitterroot Mountains and averages 400” of snow annually. Known for early openings and legendary powder, Lookout Pass is the original Idaho ski area with a strong Family Tradition, a nationally recognized Free Ski School for kids, and an historic base lodge that warms the heart.
Lookout Pass is also the home of the “crown jewel” of rail-to-trail adventures, the “Route of the Hiawatha” mountain bike trail during the summer months.
Lookout's dining and lounge areas offer our guests quick service with a great grill and deli menu plus a wide selection of hot soups, chili, salads, snacks, and hot & cold beverages. Our “Loft” Pub & Grub lounge, located on the second level, allows adults a get away area that offers a full service bar, bratwurst, appetizers, snacks and a great selection of micro brews. Watch your favorite sports events on the big screen or enjoy the panoramic slopeside and mountain views.
NEW FOR 2007/2008:
The new “North Star” lift was installed during the summer on the north aspect of the mountain accessing 6 new advanced and intermediate runs. Views of the Bitteroot Mountains to the north are spectacular!
Skiers and Riders can expect to see some new features in the 2 terrain parks along with some “big air” hang time off various jumps.
Our Ski and Snowboard rental fleet has been expanded and the rental process streamlined for a smoother and faster turnaround time.
Our PSIA and AASI Certified Ski School instructors offer all levels of skill enhancement sessions to start you out or tune you up. Lessons are available every day we are open.
