Loon Mountain Resort will be adding a new lift and new runs on the long awaited South Peak, for winter 2007/08 ski and snowboard season. Skiers and snowboarders will be able to ski and ride this new terrain as the result of over $10 million being invested this summer to build a brand-new, high-speed quad chairlift and a connector quad chair. The new quad chairlift will link South Peak to Loon’s existing lift and trail network. New trail construction is near completion, offering skiers and snowboarders nearly 50 acres of new intermediate and advanced terrain that will open in December. The new lifts and terrain represent only 35% of the total planned on-mountain expansion at build out.
