Powder is known for 500 inches per year of top quality snow. The ski area actually covers three mountains covered with 124 runs. Powder has achieved a reputation for untracked powder because of the abundance of bowls, glades and tree skiing off piste. Real snow also makes for beautifully groomed cruisers.
With 5,500 skiable acres and 500 inches of snow annually, no wonder Powder Mountain is known as the place for untracked powder in Utah. About half of the resort is served by lifts and has great groomed cruisers. The remainder is ungroomed with 1200 acres with the Powder Country shuttle, 700 acres of cat skiing at Lightning Ridge and 800 acres of guided tour in the Wolf Creek Drainage.
New for 2008.09 - A new Mountain Adventure Center at the resort center will house all of Powder Mountain’s adventure programs including Snowcat Powder Safaris, Mountain Adventure Tours and the Snow Sports School. The Timberline Ski Shop will be expanded for increased storage to hold the new rental stock purchased and for the new tuning equipment that will keep skis and boards in top shape.
Restaurants in all three lodges will be renovated to improve guest flow and to allow additional menu options. The terrain for the all day guided snowcat tours, Snowcat Powder Safari, has been double to 2,000 acres. Snow Kiting available on site.
Summer activities include 4 X 4 Adventure Tours.
